Use the Streams Lab to experiment with a data stream, craft the ideal query for gathering the data you need for your own visualizations, and track immediate top n trends. You can create and save a customized visualization with selected incoming parameters.
To get started, on the upper left of the Streams home page, click Streams Lab. If you have saved Streams Lab states, click the down arrow next to Streams Lab to view and select from the list of saved states.
- Using Streams Lab Controls
Use elements in the control panel to control and monitor the status of the stream.
- Using Incoming Parameters to Customize Streams Visualizations
Incoming parameters show you stream data as parameters are received. In the Streams Lab, you can filter your view of stream data by choosing certain parameters to view in JSON and top n trends.
- SAPI Query Statements, Clauses, and Operators
A good query selects only the necessary data to be streamed and kept in memory for processing.
- Saving and Recalling a Streams Lab State
After you filter parameters with where clauses and drag parameters into the top n panel, you can save this lab state for quick recall another time. When you save a lab state, you are saving the included parameters and where clause filters, not the data.
- Creating and Saving Custom Visualizations
Use the visualization builder to create custom visualizations of the stream based on Campaign Flow, 2D, Traffic Map, or Devices.
