Upgrading Your Webtrends Analytics for SharePoint Installation

Current SharePoint 2010 users with Webtrends Analytics for SharePoint version 2 can upgrade to Webtrends Analytics for SharePoint version 3. This version of Analytics for Sharepoint is for use with SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint 2013.

Important: Uninstall any earlier versions of Webtrends Analytics for SharePoint before you upgrade to version 3. See instructions for uninstalling below.

To get the Webtrends Analytics for SharePoint v3 download:
Click Download Tag Installer on the last page of a newly created SharePoint space, or on the Space Details page of an existing SharePoint space (to view the Space Details page, click the information icon on the top right corner of the space dashboard). Open the appropriate .zip file, for either the SharePoint 2010 or SharePoint 2013 configuration.
If you installed an earlier version of Webtrends Analytics for SharePoint using the Webtrends Installer:
The installer included with Webtrends Analytics for SharePoint v3 will properly uninstall earlier versions.

  1. Run setup.exe from the appropriate SharePoint version .zip file in the Webtrends SharePoint Site upgrade installer download.
  2. Select Webtrends SharePoint Analytics; make sure Webtrends SharePoint User Info Collector is not selected.
  3. Select Remove when prompted to Repair or Remove.
  4. Follow the prompts to finish using the uninstall wizard.
If you installed an earlier version of Webtrends Analytics for SharePoint using the standard method:
You will need to reverse the install steps to remove the earlier version(s) of Webtrends Analytics for SharePoint. This requires you to modify all pages that have been manually edited and remove the Webtrends additions. In most cases this will be a single master page, but it’s possible that custom standard installations required other pages or multiple master pages to be edited.

  1. Locate the script reference for webtrends.js.
  2. Make note of the value of the src attribute for use later in this procedure.
  3. Remove the script reference for webtrends.js you located in step 1. It is similar to this:

  4. Locate the following script block and remove it:

  5. Delete the webtrends.js file from the location you noted in step 2.
