Installing and Deploying the Webtrends SharePoint Tag Installer

As the Webtrends SharePoint Tag Installer app will be hosted locally in your organization’s app catalog, you must have sufficient SharePoint access rights to upload the app to your app catalog, deploy it to site collections, and modify any site collections into which the app will be deployed. This typically requires at least SharePoint Site Collection Administrator level rights.

Dependencies

The Webtrends Analytics for SharePoint app is designed to be deployed in to SharePoint and SharePoint Online only (SharePoint on premises and cloud deployments as well as SharePoint in Office 365). The app delivers Webtrends Analytics for SharePoint without any additional installation requirements.

The Webtrends app deploys a snippet of JavaScript code into a SharePoint environment. The JavaScript code tags SharePoint sites and content, and as combined with the Microsoft SharePoint API, enables the capture of data from within the SharePoint environment.

To enable accurate data capture and its collection, reporting and presentation, all clients require a unique data collection system identifier (DCSID). If you are not a current Webtrends client and do not have a DCSID, activation of the Analytics for SharePoint solution cannot be completed. To become a client, please reach out to Webtrends at sharepoint@webtrends.com .

Your SharePoint environment must be configured to accept apps prior to activating the Webtrends SharePoint Tag Installer app. If you are unfamiliar with how to do so or have not yet done so, please visit the Microsoft Office help site.
